Job description

The Junior Account Manager is a professional sales position whose primary objective is to provide product/ clinical education highlighting product features and benefits within the Ophtec portfolio of surgical device products such as intraocular lenses, complex cataract solutions, and other surgical instruments.

  • As an Ophtec representative you will educate surgeons, visit our surgeons and nurses in clinics, medical centers and hospitals. Work together with ophthalmologists and purchasing departments throughout the country and inform and educate them on Ophtec-products.
  • Leading the initiative by establishing educational opportunities to showcase Ophtec products.
  • The Junior Account Manager will be part of the surgical procedures and be able to provide guidance on product surgical implantation of clinical application.
  • Expect to actively participate in ophthalmic congresses in and outside the Netherlands and organize training sessions and ‘wet labs’ for ophthalmologists and OR assistants.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in science, business, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of successful ophthalmic or other medical sales experience preferred
  • Prior surgical experience – OR experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish priorities to meet goals.
  • Highly motivated and results driven.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Living in or around the ‘Randstad’ (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht);
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology is a benefit but not obligatory.
  • Be willing and motivated to participate in education and personal development.
  • In addition to strong communication skills, emotional intelligence is important to establish customer intimacy and successful professional relationships.
  • Develop an effective teamwork relationship with other Ophtec representatives in the sales region.
  • Support the company’s mission of ”focusing on perfection” by providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain and update territory records of all customers.
  • Effectively utilize and manage territory expenses, sample accounts, and consignments in a responsible manner according to company policies.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with position according to company policies.
